"November $200,000" (Day 2): McVay Eliminated In 12th Place After Unfortunate Run Of Events

"November $200,000"
$360 No Limit Hold'em | $200,000 GTD
Level 28 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/10,000)
Total Entries: 624
Players Remaining: 11

Bryce McVay (Jupiter, FL) was sitting with a pretty comfortable stack, even as the blinds began to make things a little shallower.  He would then go on to lose with A♠ A♣ against K♦ Q♦, followed by losing with 10♠ 10♣ against 3♠ 3♣ (to Jamie Wiegrefe).  Those hands would take a large percentage of Bryce's stack, and he'd bust to Linda Lipkins just moments ago, as she flopped a straight with A♠ K♥ (against his A♥ 7♦).  Bryce earns $3,325 for his twelfth place finish, but surely exits the field feeling like he should have deserved a better result.

It should be noted that Jamie Wigrefe, who was down to just 200,000 after losing that massive pot to Diane Linke, is now back over 1,200,000.

Diane Linke (Delray Beach, FL) watches as the dealer counts out her stack, worth close to 1,800,000.

Jamie Wiegrefe returned from break as the chip leader, but is now one of the shortest stacks, after doubling up Diane Linke.  Diane started the pot of the tournament with just under 1,800,000, and watched as Jamie four-bet shoved pre-flop, with Linke holding A♠ A♥.  She made the quick call, and was pleased to see Wiegrefe turn over K♠ K♦, but still needed to fade the runout.  The dealer would lay out a board of 10♠ 8♠ 6♥ 2♦ 2♥, and Diane would double up to 3,700,000, while the player known as "Thor" drops down to 200,000.

Bryce McVay (Jupiter, FL) got a little "creative" with his four-bet shove, but it ended up working out for him.

After Bryce McVay opened the action at Table 1 with a raise to 42,000, Jake Ozyman three-bet to 80,000 after players folded to him.  The players behind Ozyman also released their hand, and it would be McCoy's move next.  After sitting still for neither a minute, Bryce announced he was all-in, having Ozyman covered.  Jake quickly made the call, and the two would be playing for a pot worth close to 800,000.

McVay turned over A♦ 4♣, seemingly knowing that his hand was going to be in bad shape, which it was (against the Q♦ Q♥ of Ozyman).  The 4♦ 3♠ 5♠ flop was certainly a favorable one for McVay, but he was still behind.  That would only last for a few seconds, with the dealer placing the 4♠ on the turn, leaving Jake looking for a two-outer on the river.  It wasn't meant to be for Ozyman, who exits the field, while McVay chips up to 1,900,000 (which is good for the chip lead).

Scott Zakheim (Davie, FL) finds himself in the money, after losing a pot on the bubble that left him with less than one big blind.

The "November $200,000" field is now in the money, with everyone remaining in the field guaranteed at least $720 (min-cash).  On the same hand that the field lost it's "bubble-boy," Scott Zakheim was all-in against Wes Radon, with the two players within 10,000 chips of each other.  It was the A♦ K♠ of Zakheim, flipping against the J♠ J♥ of Radon, with Wes flopping a full house (J♦ 6♥ 6♣).  Scott would actually turn outs to win, after a king hit the felt, but the river would seal the double for Radon.  Once the stacks were counted down, Scott would be left with 7,000, but would reach the money with the elimination of a player from another table.

Jake Ozyman (Davie, FL) leads the Day 2 field, which is currently taking their first break of the day.

The remaining Day 2 players are taking their first break of the day, and will be returning to Level 19, with new blinds of 4,000/8,000/1,000 (192,000 chip average).  Jake Ozyman (Davie, FL) leads the way after two hours of play, this after coming into Day 2 with 205,500, which was eighteenth in the counts.  The field is only four eliminations from the money, with the live coverage's focus on the bubble, once play resumes in a few minutes.

Jake Ozyman - 480,000
Antoine Bahi - 460,000
Diane Linke - 420,000
Bryce McVay - 410,000

"November $200,000" (Day 2): Zarcadoolas Eliminates "The Grinder" Short Of The Money

"November $200,000"
$360 No Limit Hold'em | $200,000 GTD
Level 18 (Blinds 3,000/6,000/500)
Total Entries: 624
Players Remaining: 65

Both Matthew Zarcadoolas (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and Michael Mizrachi came into the day short, but it's Matthew getting the better of the tournament great.

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi (Hollywood, FL) came into Day 2 with the best tournament resume by far, with over $15,600,000 in lifetime earnings.  The prior accomplishments are beyond impressive, but they couldn't help the position Mizrachi started Day 2 in, with the twelfth shortest stack of the (96) players to return.

After the action folded to Michael in the small blind, he would shove for just over 25,000.  Matthew Zarcadoolas, who was in the big blind (and also the day super short), ended up making the call.  It would be Mizrachi's Q♣ 10♣ against the K♦ 5♣ of Zarcadoolas, with the dealer running out a board of 9♥ 3♦ 2♠ 5♦ A♥.  Zarcadoolas's pair of fives would be good enough to take down the pot (as was his king-high), and he'd eliminated Mizrachi just ten places short of the money.  Matthew is up to 100,000 after winning the pot, which is more than double the stack he started Day 2 with.

Level 17 (Blinds 2,500/5,000/500)
Total Entries: 624
Players Remaining: 70

Bryce McVay (Jupiter, FL) cracks a smile after adding to what is now a top stack in the Day 2 field.

As the field reaches the money bubble, this would usually be a time where the larger stacks look to pressure those that are short around them.  At Table 1, it would be two players who came into the day in the top ten battling it out, as Bryce McVay and Scott Levitt were tangled in a hand.  The players would be heads up on the river, with a board that read A♠ 4♣ 6♥ 3♦ A♣.  With over 125,000 in the pot, McVay would check to Levitt, who took a good while before deciding to check back.  Bryce would table A♥ Q♠, generating a shake of the head from Levitt, who tossed his hand into the muck.  Bryce chipped up to 500,000 with the pot, after starting the day with 234,000.  On the other side of the hand, Scott Levitt dropped down below 100,000, after resuming play today with 260,000.

Bryce McVay - 515,000 (103bb)
Scott Levitt - 96,000 (19bb)

Sunday, November 5th: "November $200,000" Players Returning For Day 2 (12:00pm), Over $39,000 Up Top

ICYMI: Yesterday's action for the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD) tournament, otherwise known as the "November $200,000," needed a strong showing to reach the guaranteed number.  Flight 1G started at 11:00am, and after registration closed, ended up being the largest of the six flights.  There were a total of (163) entries, with (25) players successfully reaching the bagging process, led by Marc Sacheli (371,000) and Craig Seeber (305,000).  Both players earned the chip lead bonus, and will be playing in the $340 Package Satellite (into $2,500 Single-Day and $1,500 Isle Classic Event #1) on November 29th.

With registration closing for the afternoon flight, just as the cards were getting in the air for the final flight of the event (Flight 1H), we knew that it needed (171) entries to make the guarantee.  Things came down to the the few levels of registration, with (139) entries making up the field for Flight 1H.  A total of (27) players booked their tickets to Day 2, with Isle Poker notables Steven Moreno (224,500) and Danilo Parada (219,000) bagging the bonuses.  Full chip counts from both flights, as well as Day 2 chip counts (and seating assignments) were published earlier on the blog.

The combined total for the tournament in terms of entries was (624), just (32) entries short of the guarantee.  The money from the overlay is provided by the Isle Casino Poker Room, with the prize pool equaling $200,000.  A total of (55) players will reach the money this afternoon, from the (96) that are returning to start Day 2.  Cards will be in the air at 12:00pm, with the blog offering coverage as the event plays down to a winner.

Tournaments: Day 2 of the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD) sees players returning at 12:00pm, ready to battle it out for the $39,270 first place prize.  The tournament structure stays the same, with (30) minute levels over the course of Day 2.

There is another tournament on the schedule this evening, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Hard Stop, ICM Chop" beginning at 6:00pm.  Players sit down to starting stacks of 20,000 units, with (20) minute levels, but there is a little wrinkle towards the end of the night.  After Level 16, the clock will be paused, and (10) final hands will be played.  Once those hands have finished, those players still left will split the prize pool (according to ICM calculations).

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that starting November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
