"June $50,000 GTD" (Flight 1G): Alex's Aggression Sees Him Grab The Lead

"June $50,000 GTD"
$75 No Limit Hold'em
Level 12 (Blinds 800/1,600/200)
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 87/239

Alexander Thomas (Gainesville, FL)

After two limpers (for 1,200) and a few folds, Alexander Thomas (Gainesville, FL) would raise to 3,500 on the button.  The small blind would make the call, as well as the players who limped, with four players going to the flop of A 9♠ 3♣.  Action checked to Thomas, who continued with a bet of 6,000.  Just the player in the small blind called, and he then checked to Thomas after the J on the turn.  Thomas quickly grabbed a stack of yellow (5,000 denomination) chips, and put out a 30,000 bet (which was enough to put his opponent all-in).  That bet was enough to elicit a fold, and Thomas scooped a nice sized pot, and chipped up to 170,000...which is good for the Flight 1G chip lead at the moment.
