"June $50,000 GTD" (Flight 1G): Linke Has A Pretty Good Backup Plan

"June $50,000 GTD"
$75 No Limit Hold'em
Level 6 (Blinds 200/400/50)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 188

Diane Linke (Delray Beach, FL)

Last week was the first ever running of the "Hard Stop, ICM Chop" event, a $100 No Limit Hold'em tournament with a little bit of a wrinkle.  One of the things that players sometimes see as a "negative" in regards to tournament poker, is the length of time that it takes to finish certain events.  The idea behind this particular tournament was to give players the assurance that they would be done by a set time, and not have to worry about playing super deep into the night.  Last week's event had a $2,500 guaranteed prize pool, and ended in a heads-up chop between Tom Gity (who took first place money) and Diane Link (pictured above).  Diane earned $800 of the runner-up finish, which brought her career earnings to just below $8,000.  Linke's current goal is to bag chips and eventually win this particular tournament, but she can rest assure knowing that tomorrow offers a "second chance" to players that bust.  At 6:00pm tomorrow evening, the second running of the "Hard Stop, ICM Chop" event will be run, but this time with a $5,000 guarantee.

Diane headlines the second group of notables in the field, with many players still trying to get their hands on a bag for the first time this week:

Glenn Popkin
Michael Hefley
Alexander Thomas
Benjamin Robinson
Jack Sedacka
Cory Santacroce
Danielle Bastarache
Ronald Arena
Thomas Gari
Philip Tuttle
Trent Trimble
