FSPC Event 1 (Day 2): Ramos And Sommer Off To Hot Starts

2017 Florida State Poker Championships
Event 1 - $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD)
Level 16 (Blinds 2,000/4,000/500)
Total Event 1 Entries: 1,594
Players Remaining: 208/1,594

Rafael Ramos (Cape Coral, FL)

It took all but one hand for Rafael Ramos to get the festivities going this afternoon, as he eliminated two players, holding A♣ A♠ against both K K and J♠ J♣.  Ramos had two players all-in in front of him, looked down at pocket aces, and now had 330,000 (83 big blinds).

Scott Sommer also saw some good fortune to start the day, but he went a different route for his double elimination.  Scott held A♠ 7 on an A 10♠ J♣ flop, and had two players at risk, one with A♣ 10♣ and the other K 4.  The turn and river would fall 7♠-7♣, making Sommer an improbable full house, and helping him chip up to 575,000 (145 big blinds).

The field is now only a handful of eliminations from the money, with hand-for-hand play beginning when 202 players remain.
