Sunday, July 9th: Crowning The First 2017 FSPC Winner, "Turbo High Hands" On The Cash Side

ICYMI: Yesterday was one of the busiest days the Isle Poker Room has ever seen in terms of tournament action.  There was almost as many entries in the pair of Saturday flights, then there were in the four flights that came before them...combined.  Flight 1G started the day off, and it was clear right from the get-go, that things were going to be special.  There were over (100) players in the field when the first card came off the deck, which was a number we saw some afternoon flights prior finish with.  When registration closed on Flight 1G, there would be a total of (316) entries, with less than half still alive to try and find a bag.  After the completion of sixteen levels, there were (45) players moving on to Day 2, with Angelo Miele (Hollywood, FL) leading the way (498,500).

The Flight 1H numbers were even larger than it's afternoon counterpart, with a total of (355) entries in the field once registration closed.  Ansel Allsop (Reading, PA) tied Oleg Efremov for the overall Day 2 chip lead, finishing the night with 500,500.  The bagging process wrapped up just after 1:30am, with (47) players looking to get some rest, before returning this afternoon (12:00pm).

With all of the flights then finished, the official numbers for Event 1 of the 2017 Florida State Poker Championships were in.  The tournament attracted a total of (1,594) entries, which equated to a prize pool of $223,160 (well over double the posted guarantee).  There will be (216) players returning a 12:00pm this afternoon, all looking to their hands on the $35,306 first place prize.  Things will be moving at a rapid pace once the cards get back in the air, as the money bubble will occur within the first level or two of the day (200 spots getting paid).

Live updates from the field will begin the moment the first card is off the deck, and will continue through the tournament's conclusion.

Tournaments: As mentioned above, Day 2 of Event 1 gets underway of 12:00pm, and will play down to a winner or until a deal is made, whichever comes first.  After four days of Event 1 flights, the second event of the series is on today's schedule, with the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" ($5,000 GTD) getting underway at 6:00pm.

Promotions: The weekend continues today with "turbo high hands" from 8:00am-9:00pm.  The promotion is broken down into two periods, with $100 awarded every (10) minutes from the hours of 8:00am-2:00pm, followed by $300 awarded every (15) minutes from 2:00pm-9:00pm.
