FSPC Event 14 (Flight 1C): Oropesa Finds The Right Hand, At The Right Time

2017 Florida State Poker Championships
Event 14 - $1,100 No Limit Hold'em ($150,000 GTD)
Level 9 (Blinds 300/600/75)
Total Flight 1C Entries: 100

Rafael Oropesa (Hialeah, FL)

After an open to 1,250, and a flat behind, Rafael Oropesa (Hialeah, FL) pushed forward his stack of 7,500.  Another player would re-shove for 21,650, and with the original opener sitting with a stack that covered both players, he'd call to put both players at risk.  Oropesa was in favorable shape, holding A♠ A against K♠ K♣ and A K.  Rafael pulled out his phone and began documenting the hand, as the dealer took time to correctly make a side pot.

Oropesa leaned over the table to be able to see the runout, which fell 4♣ 5 J♠ 6 5, and gave Rafael the triple-up.  "I was so short, that I figured you both thought I had nothing," Oropesa said to his table mates, as he sat back down to stack his chips.  While he has newfound tournament life, Rafael still sits below the current chip average, which stands at 35,000.
