There was a big pot between John Depersio and Steve Karp before dinner break, that would end up shaping the rest of the day. Depersio couldn't find a fold with pocket kings pre-flop, knowing that with the way the action unfolded, he could be behind (which is was, as Karp held pocket aces). "I'm just not that good to fold in that spot," Depersio said after the hand, having flopped a set to claim the lead in the hand, and the chip lead in the field.
Depersio never looked back, and ended up comfortably bagging the flight's chip lead (372,500), earning a seat into next week's FSPC $1,500 Main Event. A total of (19) players ended up bagging chips for Day 2, including the likes of Richard Kirsch (180,000), Maurice Hawkins (162,100), Jerry Wong (92,000), Ian O'Hara (81,300), and Chris Bolek (79,700). After two flights, there are (32) players returning for tomorrow's Day 2, with more to join from this afternoon's Flight 1C.
Tournaments: Flight 1C of Event #14 is the only tournament/event on the schedule today, with action beginning at 11:00am. The remaining satellite players will be in the field, along with players still looking to bag chips for Day 2. Registration is open throughout play today, with those looking to enter sitting down to 20,000 starting stacks, and playing 40/50 minute levels over the course of action.
Promotions: The high hand promotions take another "breather" today, between yesterday's (11) hours worth of "turbo" high hands, tomorrow's (7) hours of $300 high hands (awarded every 15 minutes). The "standard high hand" procedure is in place, awarded prizes to qualifying high hands every (30) minutes (with rollovers).
