"August $100,000" (Flight 1G): Leger's Backup Plan Ends Up Working Out

"August $100,000 GTD"
$150 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 12 (Blinds 800/1,600/200)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 170
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 62

Richard Leger (Lighthouse Point, FL)

There are many possible reasons, but today's flight has seen much more action that any of the afternoon flights that have come before.  We witnessed yet another multi-way all-in, this time at Table 6.  Three players were all-in on a K J 10♠ flop, with Richard Leger holding K10, up against A♣ J♣ and A♠ Q♣ (Pedro Palacio).

Even though Pedro flopped the straight, he still needed to fade the turn and river.  The 7 on the turn was all that Leger could ask for, outside of making a full house.  He gained nine more outs to win, one of which arrived on the river (9).  Leger would let out a celebratory fist-pump, having come behind to triple-up (60,000).  Pedro Palacio would win a 20,000 chip side-pot to stay alive, while the unknown player in the hand took the biggest loss.

Richard Leger - 60,000

Players will be heading on their final break of the day (at the end of Level 12), and will return to Level 13 (1,000/2,000/300).  Play is scheduled to conclude after Level 16, but if the field reaches (22) players, action will stop right there.
