"August $100,000" (Flight 1G): A Lot Of Work, With Not Much To Show For It

"August $100,000 GTD"
$150 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 4 (Blinds 100/200)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 97

Tom Gity (Pompano Beach, FL)

Tom Gity's (Pompano Beach, FL) run through this "August $100,000" event has been well documented...both the good and the bad.  Gity's opening flights have been sort of a roller coaster, chipping up nicely over the course of the flight, only to run into unavoidable spots to eventually bust.  With only two levels to go in the flight yesterday, Tom was one of the top stacks in the room, but shared the felt with the chip leader at the time (Fletcher McKinney).

After Tom three-bet an open from McKinney (25,000 from a 5,000 open), Fletcher would just call, and the two would see a flop of J J♠ 10.  Fletcher would check-call a shove from Gity, and had Tom in rough shape, holding A♠ A to Tom's Q Q.  The pot would propel Fletcher to the flight's chip lead (and second over heading to Day 2), while Gity found himself out of the flight just a few hands later.

Tom has put the misfortune of the last few days behind him, and is looking to continue his solid play...except this time he wants to reach the bagging process.

Players are heading on their first break at the end of this level, and will be returning to Level 5, with new blinds of 150/300/25.
