Saturday, August 26th: After A Massive Friday Night, It's A "Guaranteed" Lock

ICYMI: Yesterday's action started at 11:00am with Flight 1E of the "August $100,000," the fifth of eight starting flights for the event.  Joseph Ritzie (Hamilton, OH) would be the final entry into the flight, bringing the overall total to (100).  After the scheduled sixteen levels were played, and the bagging process was finished, Fletcher McKinney (Winterhaven, FL) would bag the flight's chip lead (351,000).  Fletcher leads the (15) players to bag from the flight primarily because of a hand against Tom Gity.  McKinney and Gity got it in a the flop for a pot for over 300,000, with Fletcher holding pocket aces to Tom's pocket queens.  Some others to bag from the flight included Scott Bailey (215,000), Evan Teitelbaum (152,500), and Arlene Vazquez (83,000).

Then came the evening flight (Flight 1F) at 6:00pm, which brought numbers that nobody could have predicted.  A total of (242) entries made up the biggest flight of the six to be played to this point, and brought the combined total just short of the posted $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.  Of the (33) players to bag chips for Sunday's Day 2, Jay Marajh (374,500) bagged the chip lead, which also happens to be overall chip lead coming back.  Also part of the group to move on to Sunday were Anthony Bennett (306,500), Juan Rodriguez (170,000), Joseph Couden (114,500), and Avery Bass (71,000).

The numbers from yesterday brought the combined total to (758) entries, with (106) returning from tomorrow's Day 2.

Tournaments: The final pair of "August $100,000" flights are on today's schedule, with Flight 1G getting underway at 11:00am, followed by Flight 1H at 6:00pm.  Both flights have the same structure, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 18,000 units, and playing levels that are (25) minutes in length.  To this point in the tournament, there has been a total of (758) entries, with (106) players having bagged chip from said starting flights.

Promotions: The high hand promotions take another "breather" today, between yesterday's (11) hours worth of "turbo" high hands, tomorrow's (7) hours of $300 high hands (awarded every 15 minutes).  The "standard high hand" procedure is in place, awarded prizes to qualifying high hands every (30) minutes (with rollovers).
