Although Maurice Hawkins (Plantation, FL) was left with less than ten big blinds, he was quickly able to get his stack back over 150,000 (after doubling, and getting some all-ins through). After shoving for the fourth time in two orbits (six-handed), Hawkins was called by Speranza, and would be ahead. Maurice's 10♠ 10♦ held a lead against the A♦ 9♣ of Speranza, with the dealer running out a board of J♠ 4♣ 5♥ 3♦ 2♠, giving Speranza the straight on the river.
Maurice grinned as he looked at the board, quickly stood from the table, and headed to the tournament podium. He would earn $1,060 for his 12th place finish, and leaves the table now one elimination from the final table.
