BATB Event #14 ($1,500 NLH Championship): Action About To Begin For Second Of Three Championship Event Starting Flights

2018 Battles At The Beach
Event #14 | $1,500 NLH Championship ($500,000 GTD)

Level 1 (Blinds 50/100) | Structure
Total Flight 1B Entries: N/A

"Friday is for flighting," as players start arriving for Flight 1B of the Battles At The Beach $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Championship ($500,000 GTD), with cards to get in the air momentarily.  The Event #14 action yesterday afternoon, with a strong opening flight, as a total of (80) entries made up the Flight 1A field.  After ten levels of fifty minutes, (27) players were to left to bag their chips for Sunday's Day 2, led by Scott Levitt (191,100).  Levitt started the day off incredibly strong, ballooning his stack to 90,000, just a few levels into the day.  An early evening table change (as his original table broke) saw a huge downswing for Levitt, but he would end up recovering, and dealing the chip lead bonus on one of the final hands of the night.  TJ Shulman (Boynton Beach, FL) also locked up a bonus on the last hand of play, using pure aggression against Jeffrey Saunders, to scoop a critical pot that put him in second place.

A new group of players (along with some faces from yesterday) will be in action today, hoping to join those that have already punched a ticket to Sunday's Day 2.  Everything about the structure will be the same, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 30,000 units.  Levels for this opening flight will be (50) minutes, with a transition to (60) minutes, once Day 2 begins.  Registration is open from the moment the cards get in the air, to the end of Level 12 (which is two levels into Day 2).  There is no dinner break today, just (10) minute breaks (every two levels), with action wrapping up just after 9:30pm.

Official Flight 1A chip count will be posted to begin today's live blogged coverage, followed by our first look at players in today's Flight 1B field.
