FSPC Event #14 (Day 2): Raj Vohra Goes Deep In The Tank, But Makes Right Call To Eliminate Alex Gladunov

Level 14 (Blinds 1,500/3,000/3,000)
Total Event #14 Entries: 564
Event #14 Players Remaining: 100

FSPC Event #9 winner Raj Vohra (Lake Worth, FL) looks to be primed for another deep run, after picking off a pretty crazy bluff from Alex Gladunov.

What seemed like a run of the mill hand, just turned into the pot of the day, as Raj Vohra assumed the overall Day 2 chip lead.  The hand was caught up on the river, with Raj Vohra and Alex Gladunov heads-up, on a board of 5♠ 3♠ 3♣ 9♠ 9♣.  Gladunov, who was in the big blind, fired out a bet of 17,000 on the river.  Vohra raised it up to 52,000, which looked like it was going to end the hand right there, as Gladunov went into the tank.

Our attention would quickly be turned to another table, but when we focused back on Table 10, it would be Raj Vohra now in the tank.  Alex Gladunov had three-bet shoved for 155,000, with the decision Cleary irritating Raj.  "What's going on man," Raj said to Gladunov, who wasn't moving at all.  "This is the craziest hand...do you really have a nine in your hand."

After about two minutes, Vohra pushed forward the chips to call (with Q♣ 3), with Alex tabling 8 4.  His bluff attempt would fail, and Alex would be eliminated from Day 2 play.  With that pot, Raj would assume the chip lead, and now looks to make another deep run (after winning Event #9).

Raj Vohra - 700,000 (233bb)
