FSPC Event #14 (Day 2): Zyad Qasem Picking Up Where He Left Off, Eliminates Matthew Vetstein

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #14 | $1,500 No Limit Hold'em ($500,000 GTD)
Level 13 (Blinds 1,500/2,500/2,500)
Total Event #14 Entries: 564
Event #14 Players Remaining: 121

Zyad Qasem (Ft. Myers, FL) has yet to cash in an event during this series, but looks primed to make a run into the money this afternoon.

Zyad Qasem (Ft. Myers, FL) was one of the chip leaders from yesterday's final starting day (Day 1D), and came into today with the ninth largest Day 2 stack.  Matthew Vetstein returned to action with a stack just below average (121,000), but went all-in for his final 30,000 moments ago, on a flop of J 9 2.  After asking for a count, Qasem would re-shove, with both Joshua Kay and Michael Graffeo folding behind.

Vetstein would roll over A♣ A, up against the K 3 of Qasem.  The 3♠ on the turn would bring extra outs to Zyad, who ended up making his flush, after the A on the river.  Vetstein was left with a sheepish smile on his face, as he stared down at the board, before exiting the table.

Also eliminated from the field recently was Johnny Chan, who was unable to spin up the 30,000 unit starting stack.

Zyad Qasem - 375,000 (150bb)
