Monday, July 30th: After Opening Rounds, It's "Moving Day" For The FSPC Main Event, "Players Appreciation" Also Headlines Schedule

ICYMI: Sunday hosted the final opening day of Event #14 ($1,500 NLH Florida State Poker Championship Main Event $500,000 GTD), which ended up a history being a history making moment.  After reaching the bagging process with (179) entries in Day 1D, the combined total would wind up falling directly on (543) entries...which is tied for the largest field ever for a $1,500 buy-in main event (for the Florida State Poker Championships).  With registration still open before the Day 2 action begins, this year's FSPC main event will go down as the largest on record (prize pool currently sits at $733,050).

From the (179) entries in Day 1D, a total of (42) players would bag chips, led by Gavin Gowie (393,500).  Gavin's top Day 1D stack will see him entering Day 2 with the fourth largest overall stack, sitting behind only Luis Zedan, Jonathan Jaffe, and Raj Vohra.  Rounding out the top five stacks from Flight 1D were:

Lanier Davenport - 299,000
Zyad Qasem - 292,500
Jacobo Fernandez - 281,000
Dmitri Perfiler - 267,000

Action will resume this afternoon at 12:00pm, as Day 2 is very similar to "moving day" in golf.  Players will be reaching the money today, but the tournament can't be won at any point this evening, so the goal is to put yourself in the best position for tomorrow's Day 3.  Live blogged coverage will be available from the moment the cards start flying, until players are bagging up chips for Day 3.

Tournaments: As mentioned above, today's Florida State Poker Championship schedule begins at 12:00pm, as play resumes with Day 2 of Event #16.  Registration is open for the tournament, until the first hand is dealt (Day 2 entrants will sit down with 30,000 units), so players interested in entering should arrive at least ten minutes before that.  The only change in structure is the levels, as they transition to (60) minutes in length for the duration of the tournament.

At 3:00pm, the FSPC schedule continues on, with Event #15 on tap ($570 No Limit Hold'em "Players Appreciation").  The event is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (30) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8, and the break that follows it.  There is no rake taken out from this tournament, as the Isle Poker Room would like to show our appreciation for the players, because without them...an incredible series that the FSPC would not be what it is.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-6:00pm, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
