Matthew Lambrecht (Stuart, FL) got max value out of pocket kings against Salvatore Sollecito, who was knocked out just a few hands after doubling Lambrecht up. |
At Table 2, a player from early position would open to 2,000, with three players flatting behind. Matthew Lambrecht was in the big blind, and when action was on him, he would three-bet to 9,000. The original raiser and one of the caller would fold, with Salvatore Sollecito calling on the button. The dealer would fan out a 10♦ 6♥ 4♦ flop, with Lambrecht betting out 5,100, and Salvatore making the call. After the 2♥ fell on the turn, Matthew would shove for 11,000, with Salvatore making the call after a few moments. Lambrecht would be ahead with K♥ K♦ against Sollecito's 5♦ 6♠, and was able to fade the river (which was the 8♠), securing a critical double. Lambrecht chipped up to 58,000 with the pot, and now sits with a more than comfortable stack.
Heading back to write up the hand history, we would catch Doron Malinasky shoving all-in (for 17,100), over a raise from a player in late position. Joseph Duchman (who had limped earlier) shoved for less, with the original raiser making the call, and putting both players at risk:
A. Nonymous: J♠ J♦
Malinasky: K♠ Q♠
Duchman: K♥ 10♥
Runout: 10♠ 9♠ 7♦ Q♣ 3♠
Malinasky flopped very well, and would take the lead on the turn, which would not be relinquished on the river. Doron is now over 50,000, and is far from the "danger zone" he just started the hand with.
