Thursday, June 8th: June's "Multi-Flight Madness" Begins Today With $50,000 GTD

ICYMI: The Wednesday installment of the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD) drew a field of (40) entries, which ended up surpassing the posted guarantee ($3,080 prize pool).  There were five spots scheduled to reach the money, and once the bubble burst, the deal making discussions begun.  After working the numbers, the five players agreed to a deal, with tournament regular Edgard "Corona" Mendes (Deerfield Beach, FL) earning first place money.

Tournaments: Today marks the beginning of the $75 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD), the only multi-day...multi-flight tournament on June's calendar.  The first of nine flights (Flight 1A) begins at 11:00am, and will be followed in the afternoon by Flight 1B (3:00pm), and Flight 1C at 6:00pm.  Each starting flights will follow the same structure, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 15,000, and playing levels that are (20) minutes in length (throughout the tournament).  Registration will be open for (8) levels, which is just under three hours into each flight.  The tournament also sees the return of the "chip leader bonus," with each of the starting flight's chip leader's earning $500.  The tournament will be covered live here on the blog, with full action from each day's opening flight, as well as full Day 2 coverage (as the tournament plays down to a winner).

Promotions: The "Limit Hold'em Early Bird" promotion has been a staple on Thursday's, giving the room a little "break" from the high hand madness that is the "Spin To Win" promotion.  This afternoon sees an addition to the promotional calendar, with "Turbo High Hands" awarded from 12:00pm-11:00pm.  High hands will be awarded every (15) minutes, with those qualifying winners taking home $300 (rollovers apply).
