Charlemagne Benjamin (Miami Gardens, FL)

Charlemagne Benjamin (Miami Gardens, FL) is a well-known player in the Florida tournament poker community, who is coming off of one his mot successful years of play ($133,191 in earnings).  He's back from Vegas after two cashes, one of which was an unofficial WSOP final table (finished 10th in the $10,000 Tag Team event with Michael Newman).  The only thing Benjamin is lacking on his tournament resume is a big score here at the Isle Poker Room.  He just took a pot from Tavaris Jackson to give himself double the chip average, and vault to the top twenty in the field.

Benjamin turned two pair with K 2 on an A K 9♠ 2♣ board, calling bets on the flop and river from Jackson.  The river 8 didn't do much to deter Jackson, who fired out a 60,000 bet on the river (just over pot size).  Charlemagne made the call, and watched as Jackson rolled over 5 6, having bricked on a flush draw.  Benjamin now has just over 355,000, while Jackson drops down to under 400,000.

Tavaris Jackson - 398,000
Charlemagne Benjamin - 355,000

Players will be taking their first break of the day at the conclusion of this level, and will return to Level 19 (4,000/8,000/1,000).
