FSPC Main Event (Day 3): Jonathan Gold The First To Go, Eliminated In 17th Place ($7,842)

2017 Florida State Poker Championships
Event 20 - $1,500 No Limit Hold'em ($500,000 GTD)
Level 23 (Blinds 12,000/24,000/4,000)
Total Entries: 548
Players Remaining: 16/548

Jonathan Gold (Boca Raton, FL) just became the first player eliminated on Day 3, losing a flip to Devon Shalmi.  Shalmi opened the pot for a raise, and Gold (who was next to act), jammed for just over 370,000.  Players folded behind, and Shalmi would make the call, with Gold then flipping for his tournament life.  It would be the A♠ J♠ of Gold against the 7♠ 7♠ of Shalmi, and although got a little extra sweat on the 10♠ 3♠ 3♣ flop, the turn and river would stay clean for Devon.

Gold earns $7,842 for his 17th place finish, which is his largest cash since 2014.  The Event #20 cash brings his career earnings above $120,000.  Shalmi is now up to 1,500,000, and also gains a new table mate, as Anthony Ruberto is moved from Table 1, and takes the vacant nine seat at Table 3.

Devon Shalmi - 1,550,000
Jonathan Gold - 17th Place $7,842
