Isle Open Event 1 (Flight 1E): Antoine Bahi Goes With Feel, And It Works Out

2017 Isle Open | Event #1
$175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 7 (Blinds 250/500/75)
Total Flight 1E Entries: 112

Antoine Bahi (Deerfield Beach, FL) knew he was well behind, but felt that if he completed his draw, it would be good enough to win the sizable pot.

Table 3 was approached just as a hand was playing out between Manny Perez, Joseph Mancuso, and Antoine Bahi.  On a flop of 10 7 K♠, Mancuso fired out a bet of 5,000, with Bahi calling, and Perez check-shoving (for 13,000).  Mancuso quickly re-shoved (for less), leaving Bahi the last to act, and he would take some time.  He was talking aloud, saying that if he made the call and won, he'd "have more chips that he's ever had before."  While the statement was pure humor, it was clear he didn't love his spot, but ended up making the call.  Bahi would roll over 8 9♠ (open ended draw), while Perez tabled J 8♣ (gut-shot draw), and Mancuso J♣ 10♠ (holding the best of it, with a pair of tens).

The turn would bring the 6♣, completing Bahi's straight, and giving him a commanding lead, heading to the river.  The dealer would place the 8 on the river, which would lock up the pot for Bahi, who eliminated both of his opponents (having them both covered).  We don't yet know if Perez and/or Mancuso are re-entering this flight, but we're sure to see them again before Saturday's final flight.

Antoine Bahi - 70,000
