Isle Open Event 1 (Flight 1E): Saltzman Calling His Shot, Resistance On The Way

2017 Isle Open | Event #1
$175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 15 (Blinds 1,500/3,000/500)
Total Flight 1E Entries: 120
Flight 1E Players Remaining: 20

New "frenemies" Alan Saltzman (pictured left) and Bryce McVay, both in the running for the Event #15 seat.

Alan Saltzman (Lantana, FL) lost a race to John Vasser in Level 11, and after shipping over the chips to match Vasser's all-in, Alan would be left with less than (15) big blinds.  He experienced a roller coaster like two levels to follow, doubling up...giving some back...and doubling up once again.  Once he was able to get back to an above average stack, Saltzman began a steady climb to the top of the chip counts.  He sits as the leader in the field with over 220,000, but has a close eye on his neighbor (Bryce McVay), who is only a few thousand behind.

"Just make sure you note that I'm going to be him," Saltzman said in regards to his newest "frenemy."  While beating McVay may be meaningful in some fashion to Alan, it doesn't mean he'll ship the chip lead bonus.  There are still players within striking distance of his number, with just over (40) minutes remaining in the day.
