CPPT Event #1 (Flight 1A): Derrick Williams Trying To Run Away With The Chiplead

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 12 (Blinds 1,000/2,000/2,000)
Total Flight 1A Entries: 129
Flight 1A Players Remaining: 31

Derek Williams (Gerladine, AL) has been super active since assuming the chip lead, which has been both a blessing...and a curse to his stack.

After a four year gap in tournament cashes, Derek Williams (Geraldine, AL) managed to grab a result during last year's Florida State Poker Championship (8th place in Event #12, for a cash of $939).  That still stands as Derek's last cash, but he's looking to change that in a big way, as he leads the Flight 1A field, heading to the third break of the day.  Williams peaked at 260,000 during Level 11, but has found himself slipping a little, entering Level 12 with 190,000.

Derek had the opportunity to eclipse 300,000 just moments ago, as he held 3♠ 6♠ on a 4 5 7 flop, with two players all-in ahead of him.  He was up against 5♠ 5♣ and K 6, with the board pairing on the turn, which saw Williams lose a small chunk of his stack.

Derek Williams - 190,000 (95bb)
