CPPT Event #1 (Flight 1A): It's Been A While, But The "Boom-Shaka-Laka" Returns

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 6 (Blinds 300/500/500)
Total Flight 1A Entries: 119

Juan Martinez (Dade City, FL) is usually very chatty at the table, but he only saves the "boom-shaka-laka" for a few choice moments.

We've heard it before from Juan Martinez (Dade City, FL), but it's been a while since the "boom-shaka-laka" made an appearance at the table.  Just moments ago, we'd pass Table 9, as three players were on a flop of 4♠ 3 2♠.  After Martinez and Tom Gity checked (small and big blind), the third player in the hand placed forward a bet (in the 2,500 range).  Martinez then check-raised to 7,300 (which is the point where the hand was caught), with Gity shoving for 34,500.  The original bettor laid down his hand, and Martinez would make the call (for less):

Martinez: 4 5♠
Gity: J J♣

Turn: 10
River: A♣

Martinez would make his straight on the river, with Gity slamming his hands down on the table's rail, clearly frustrated with the outcome.  "Boom-shaka-laka," Martinez replied, with a celebratory fist pump after the river.  The two would continue with some verbal jarring well after the hand, as Gity let Martinez know how he felt about his play.

Juan Martinez - 47,000 (94bb)
