Isle Open Event #6 (Flight 1E): Early Signs That It Might Just Be Shawn Brenna's Day

2018 Isle Open | Event #6
$360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD)
Level 6 (Blinds 300/500/500)
Total Flight 1E Entries: 53

Sean Brenna tried to isolate against a short-stacks shove, but found himself involved in a (150+) big blind pot.

Table 2 was approached just as the pre-flop action was finished, with three players all-in.  An unknown player was all-in for 3,500, along with Sean Brenna, who was all-in for 36,400.  Ido Ashkenazi was the third player in the hand, and he'd have both of his opponents covered.  Once it was determined that Brenna was in fact all-in (some chips didn't enter the pot, but he verbalized action), the cards were tabled:

Brenna: Q Q♣
Ashkenazi: 10 10♠
A. Nonymous: Q♠ 5

Runout: K 8♠ 6♠ 8 6♣

The board ran out clean for Brenna's pocket queens, and he'd more than double up to 80,000.  "You're running pretty good today, spiking a king against those aces as well," Ashkenazi said to Brenna, as he watched his chips pushed the way of Sean.  Coming out a winner with kings against aces is always a sign of good run, with this spot just strengthening the theory, that it may be a good day for Shawn Brenna.

Shawn Brenna - 80,000 (160bb)
