Isle Open Event #6 (Flight 1E): Early Action A Little Boring For Ashkenazi, So He Decides To Spice Things Up

2018 Isle Open | Event #6
$360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD)
Level 5 (Blinds 200/400/400)
Total Flight 1E Entries: 49

Ido Ashkenazi (Davie, FL) is a tournament veteran here in South Florida, with his sights on eclipsing the $1,000,000 mark in lifetime earnings.

During Level 3, Ido Ashkenazi (Davie, FL) wasn't quite excited enough with the action at the table, so he decided to loosen things up a bit.  He announced a straddle, putting up a raise to 400 from under-the-gun (without looking at his cards), which is just a blind raise in tournament play (opposed to cash, where the player straddling has an option).  The hand played out with five players calling his blind raise, and the initial bettor on the flop taking things down.

While the "straddle" didn't open things up much at the table, Ashkenazi has been able to accumulate chips nonetheless.  He returned from break with just over 80,000, which looks to be leading the field at the moment.

Ido Ashkenazi - 80,000 (200b)
