2018 Isle Poker Classic (Event #7)
$1,100 No Limit Hold'em Main Event
$200,000 GTD
Level 5 (Blinds 200/400/400)
Total Day 1B Entries: 36

Matthew Bretzfield (Kings Park, NY) will have a hard time saying goodbye to 2018, by far the best statistical poker year of his career.

If there was a "storyline of the year" for the Florida poker community, Matthew Bretzfield (Kings Park, NY) would surely be one of the finalists for the award.  After a five year span with just over $14,000 in live tournament earnings, Bretzfield enters the last few weeks of 2018 with over $157,000 in cashes.  Matthew's dream run started with a deep run in the $5,200 SHRPO Championship Event, in which he finished in tenth place, a result that was worth $62,415.

Just a few weeks later, Bretzfield took second place in a seven-way chop of the Card Player Poker Tour opening event ($360 No Limit Hold'em), worth $22,374.  Matthew then followed that up by winning the Card Player Poker Tour Main Event ($1,100 No Limit Hold'em), which netted him $35,443.  Bretzfield then lifted another title to begin the Isle Open, shipping Event #1 of the series for $16,932 ($200 No Limit Hold'em).

Bretzfield is just one of a handful of players to arrive late this afternoon:

Tom Gity
Santana Noronha
Denis Cyr
Chad Eveslage
Daniel Pearlman
Allan Bieler
Kiaran McLaughlin
Jerome Neloms
