Anthony Utnage (Bloomington, IN) |
There was a hand that we passed by earlier that seemed pretty routine, as Tony Utnage (Bloomington, IN) was super short, and all-in against Joshua Lowing. Utnage was down to (15) big blinds, and held A 7 against the A 9 of Lowing. Utnage would end up turning a four to double up, keeping him from having to make his way to the registration cage.
Moments ago, Tony was all-in pre once again, this time against Jacquelyn Scott. It would be a race, with Tony's 6♦ 6♠ a coin flip against Scott's A♥ J♥. It was an action flop for both, as the dealer fanned out J♠ 5♥ 6♥, followed by the A♠ on the turn. Tony needed to fade Scott's thirteen outs to double up once again, asking the dealer to peel the river a slow as possible. While the slow motion effort wasn't much of a success, the river fade was for Utnage. He'd double to over 13,000, turning his (15) big blind stack into (75) bigs.
Utnage may not be a name that followers of the blog recognize, but that's most likely because he's not from Florida. Tony has over $500,000 in career tournament earnings, including a career highlighting 9th place finish in the $10,000 WPT Five Diamonds Main Event ($107,418).
Players are currently on their first break of the day, and will be returning to Level 4, and new blinds of 150/300/50 (33,500 chip average).
