Isle Open Championship (Day 1B): "Boom-shaka-laka!"

2017 Isle Open | Event #21
$1,500 No Limit Hold'em Isle Open Championship| $500,000 GTD
Level 7 (Blinds 300/600/75)
Total Day 1B Entries: 94

Both Ryan D'Angelo and Juan Martinez wait and watch, while Scott Levitt decides his next course of action.

Juan Martinez continues to go against everything we mentioned earlier, finding himself involved in what was the largest pot of the flight.  We approached Table 7 on the flop (Q♣ 9 5), with stacks of 38,200 in front of both Scott Levitt and Juan Martinez, and Ryan D'Angelo all-in for 21,225.  Once the dealer got the side pot taken care of, she would place down the K♣ on the turn.

Scott Levitt casually tossed 15,000 toward the cards, with Juan Martinez immediately announcing himself all-in (for 17,675 more).  Levitt voiced (and showed) his displeasure with the move, causing Martinez to say, "What did you think I was going to do, after I put half my stack in on the flop?"  While the call seemed inevitable, Levitt did take some time with his decision, eventually putting the chips across his card (signifying a call).

"You could save them for later," Martinez said, just moments before the call was made...and he'd be correct.  He rolled over J 10♣, and had both players drawing dead, as Ryan and Scott held Ax Qx.

"Boom-shaka-laka," Martinez said in celebration, as the 150,000 pot helps him reassume the chip lead.  Scott Levitt would be eliminated just five hands later.

Juan Martinez - 190,000 (316bb)
