Isle Open Championship (Day 1B): Does Atherley Have Another Deep Run In Him?

2017 Isle Open | Event #21
$1,500 No Limit Hold'em Isle Open Championship| $500,000 GTD
Level 9 (Blinds 500/1,000/100)
Total Day 1B Entries: 104

Noel Atherley (Lantana, FL) wasn't able to bag chips during yesterday's flight, but is now over the century mark, and looking like he's heading towards Day 2.

Event #15 winner Noel Atherley (Lantana, FL) was able to cruise to the final table last Sunday, after buying into the tournament just before Day 2 started.  He chose a different route for this event, playing the first of three opening flights yesterday afternoon (Day 1A).  Atherley wasn't successful in bagging chips last night, but returned this afternoon with his son (who was on his rail Monday afternoon).  Noel's son has since exited the field, but he's currently doing a good job, holding it down for the family.

Atherley called Kevin Chan's all-in just a few moments ago, holding K♣ 10♣ on a 10♠ 9♣ 4♣ 2 board, against Chan's Q♠ J♣ (for a pot worth close to 80,000).  We approached the table just as the Q♣ hit the river, giving Chan a better pair, but completing Atherley's flush.  Kevin would collect his things and exit the tournament field, while Noel chipped up to 120,000.

Day 1B play is about to enter Level 9, with blinds going up to 500/1,000/100 (53,000 chip average), and (60) players remaining in the field.
