Isle Open Event 1 (Day 2): Ask And You Shall Receive, Guarino Wins Dramatic Pot

2017 Isle Open | Event #1
$175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 21 (Blinds 6,000/12,000/2,000)
Total Event 1 Entries: 1,239
Players Remaining: 85

Joelle Guarino (Parkland, FL) didn't need to make a straight flush to win, but thought "it looked so pretty" when it got there on the river.

Table 4 was approached at the perfect time, as a dramatic hand was unfolding between Cameron Collins, Joelle Guarino, and an unknown player.  The three players were on the flop of 6♣ 7♣ 8♣, with the unknown player all-in, and the two named players still active for a side pot.  After Collins had checked, Guarino went all-in for close to 300,000, which was more than 70% of Cameron's remaining stack.

Collins then exposed his hand (A K♣), yet to have made a decision on his next course of action.  The tournament floor was called over, and Cameron was informed that action was on him.  He eventually pushed his cards towards the muck, and was then informed that he'd be receiving a one-orbit penalty for tabling his hand prematurely.  Guarino would win the 100,000 side pot, but there was still a 200,000 main pot to be decided, with the unknown all-in player tabling Q Q♠.  Joelle would then turn over 10 10, and ask for the nine of clubs, although any club would have given her the lead.  The A♠ hit on the turn, with the table's collective reaction heard across the room, being that it would have given Cameron the lead (had he called).  That was until Joelle's wishes were granted, with the 9♣ hitting the river, giving her the winning straight flush.  She's now over 600,000, and sitting with close to double the chip average.

Joelle Guarino - 615,000
