Sunday, October 8th: Crowning The First Isle Open Champion, Day 2 Of Event 1 At 12:00pm

ICYMI: It was a "full house" on Saturday, as a total of (555) entries made up the final pair of starting flights, with (66) players booking their "last minute" tickets to today's Day 2 (12:00pm).  That brings the combined (and final) Event 1 numbers to 1,239 total entries, with (172) players reaching Day 2.  The prize pool closed at $167,265, which is almost $70,000 more than the posted guarantee on the tournament, which was $100,000.

Breaking down yesterday's flights, we saw (237) entries in the afternoon flight (Flight 1G), with (36) players bagging chips.  It seemed as if the race for the chip lead was going to be a close one, but Sheldon Gross (Hillsboro Beach, FL) changed that with a thirty-minute span that poker players dream of.  Gross went from 130,000 to 400,000 in one dealer down, and proceeded not to look back.  He ended the day with 477,500, which is good for second in chips of the (172) Day 2 players returning.

Flight 1H closed the opening flight action with (228) entries, of which (30) players were able to bag chips for Day 2.  Julio Graham (York, PA) did his best to follow in Sheldon's footsteps, but fell just short of his total, bagging the Flight 1H chip lead with 445,500.  That brings him back today with the third largest Day 2 stack, and earned him a seat into Event #15 ($1,100 No Limit Hold'em | $150,000 GTD).

Tournaments: There are two events on the 2017 Isle Open schedule today, one of which sees players returning (Event 1) for Day 2, and the other begins at 6:00pm.  The (174) players that were able to bag chips for Day 2 of Event 1 will be returning to play at 12:00pm, and playing down to a winner.  The structure continues on as scheduled, with (25) minute levels schedule through the conclusion of the event.  Action slides back to the 3:14 minute-mark, which is the earliest that any of the starting flights stopped (Wednesday night's Flight 1B).  Live coverage of the event will be offered from the moment the cards are in the air, until the point the Event 1 trophy is hoisted.

While Event 1 is reaching it's later stages, the second event of the 2017 Isle Open will be getting underway, with Event 2 starting at 6:00pm.  The $100 No Limit Hold'em "Deepstack Turbo Bounty" has a $5,000 guarantee, and is sure to be a popular event, especially with those players busting out of Event 1.  The tournament is structured with players sitting down to 18,000 units, with levels of (15) minutes throughout the event.  Registration is open through Level 10, with an optional add-on at the end of registration ($25 for 10,000 units, with 100% of the add-on money going towards the prize pool).

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am (Sunday morning) and 12:00am-3:00am (Monday morning), players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour
