Isle Open Event 1 (Day 2): Christian Rodriguez Binks Turn, Brings Field Closer To The Money

2017 Isle Open | Event #1
$175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 18 (Blinds 3,000/6,000/500)
Total Event 1 Entries: 1,239
Players Remaining: 127

Christian Rodriguez (Miami, FL) hits a set on the turn, to eliminate Ginold Cham (Lake Worth, FL), and bring the field that much closer to the money.

Walking by Table 6, we would see Ginold Cham (Lake Worth, FL) shove from early position (80,000), with Christian Rodriguez calling behind.  The action folded around to Juan Rodriguez, who is one of the bigger stacks in the field, but was weary of what Christian held behind (still over 200,000).  After Rodriguez got clarification that Christian just called, and hadn't re-shoved, he released his hand.

The rest of the players would fold, and it would be a race, with Cham's A♠ 10♠ against the 7 7 of Rodriguez.  Cham began to get up from his seat, but sat back down after the K♣ 10 3♠ flop, only to watch a 7♣ fall on the turn.  Ginold collected his things, as he was drawing dead, and would leave the field just (15) spots short of the money.  The blog's focus will now be on the money bubble, with hand-for-hand play beginning in just a few moments.

Christian Rodriguez - 375,000
