As the field continues to grow at a rapid pace, we are beginning to see some players arriving from outside of the state. Two of those players happen to be sitting next to each, both with live tournament resumes that are in the $1,000,000 range. Joe Palma (Bensalem, PA), better known as "Worm," is the unheralded boss at Parx Casino (and their Big Stax series). He has won close to $300,000 during events in that series alone, spanning the last three year.
Marshall White (Garner, NC) is another player who cut his teeth playing events in the Northeast, as well as his home state of North Carolina. During the fall of last year, White earned a career highlighting score, winning the opening event of the WPT Borgata Poker Open. The $560 No Limit Hold'em tournament had 3,570 runners, and an official prize pool over $1,942,000. The title win was worth just over $330,000, and helped bring his career earnings above $1,299,000.
