Saturday, March 24th: Final Event #14 Starting Flight, Along With A $20,000 GTD Event This Evening

ICYMI: Yesterday was Flight 1B of the Battles At The Beach $1,500 NLH Championship ($500,000 GTD), the second of three starting flights for the tournament.  Early on, it was clear that the numbers were going to be much larger than Thursday, with a pace that was going to eclipse the century mark.  A late rush of entries over the last few levels saw the final number close at (115), which was almost forty-percent higher than the day before.  After ten levels of play, (45) players would remain for the bagging process, with Qasem Jamhour (205,600) and Greg McCann (204,000) bagging the top two stacks.  The race for the bonus wasn't nearly as close as the night prior, as the two players mentioned held 50,000 more than their nearest opponent.  Some other big names to bag from Flight 1B included Alex Nguyen (143,600), Joshua Kay (105,500), Daryl Jace (103,200), Daniel Pearlman (96,600), and Ryan D'Angelo (91,700).  The rest of the group to have bagged from Flight 1B will be returning tomorrow afternoon for Day 2 (Sunday at 12:00pm).

The final satellite for Event #14 kicked off yesterday evening, just as the final levels of Flight 1B were winding down.  The numbers were very strong once again, as a $175 No Limit Hold'em Satellite that was guaranteeing (8) seats, ended up awarding (13).  A fourteenth place was awarded a cash prize of $1,350, which is just a few dollars away from the tournament's buy-in ($1,500).  Listed below, are the names of the players to have earned an Event #14 seat from the satellite:

Tournaments: This afternoon hosts the final starting flight of Event #14, with the field expected to grow over (175) entries.  Players in the flight will be sitting down to starting stacks of 30,000 units.  Play for the three opening flights will have levels of (50) minutes, transitioning to (60) minutes on Day 2.  The day is scheduled to end after Level 10, with registration not only open throughout the flight, but into Day 2 play.  The registration window for Event #14 will close after Level 12, which is just over an hour into the start of Day 2.  Live coverage of the Championship Event will begin when the first card is pitched, and will continue through the bagging process.  

The Battles At The Beach schedule continues this evening, with Event #15 getting underway at 6:00pm.  The $150 No Limit Hold'em event has a $20,000 guaranteed prize pool, and will be sure to attract a large field, as some players shy away from the size of the championship event buy-in.  The tournament is structured with 16,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8, allowing players the opportunity to get involved until just before 9:00pm.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that started back on November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
