FSPC Event #4 (Flight 1D): Puccio Has Morford "Pipped," Gets The Full Double

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #4 | $360 No Limit Hold'em | $200,000 GTD
Level 12 (Blinds 1,000/2,000/2,000)
Total Flight 1D Entries: 132
Flight 1D Players Remaining: 33

Thomas Puccio (Miami Beach, FL) chose to see a flop, rather than four-bet pre, which may have helped towards doubling through Jeff Morford.

After Thomas Puccio opened the action at Table 3 with a raise, he'd immediately be three-bet by Jeff Morford.  Players would fold behind, and Puccio decided to make the call, as the two players saw a flop of A♠ 3♠ 2♣.  Puccio checked to Morford, who continued with a bet of 4,000.  Puccio then check-raised to 10,000, with Morford four-bet ripping, and Thomas calling off (his stack was 48,000):

Puccio: A K♣
Morford: A J♣

Turn: 6♣
River: 3

When the cards were tabled, Morford would lament his shove, seeing that his hand was in second play.  His ace was not good enough, and the runout would give both players two-pair, but Puccio held the nut kicker.

Thomas Puccio - 110,000
Jeff Morford - 22,000

Players will be heading on their third break at the end of this level, returning to Level 13, and new blinds of 1,500/2,500/2,500.
