Isle Open Event 7 (Day 2): Lawson Predicts The Future, "Man Down"

2017 Isle Open | Event #7

Total Entries: 941

Theo Lawson's (Miami, FL) "man down" was the comment of the day to this point, drawing laughs from most everyone at Table 9...except Nick Ahmadi.

Table 9 was approached in a hand between Theo Lawson (Miami, FL) and Nick Ahmadi, with the turn of a board reading A 6♣ 7♠ 8.  Ahmadi had just called a turn bet from Lawson, with Theo looking up his friend standing a table away and saying, "man down!!"  The table got a good chuckle from the comment, as the dealer put down the K on the river.  Lawson stayed still for about twenty seconds, and then pushed both of his stacks forward, putting Ahmadi all-in (who had about 50,000 behind).

Nick then took some time himself, eventually dropping a stacks of chips on the felt for a call, only to hear Lawson say he had two pair.  Theo then tabled A♣ 8♠, with Ahmadi helicoptering his hand towards the muck, and quickly exiting the tournament area.  Lawson started the day with 180,500, but after only thirty minutes of play, now sits with 340,000.

Theo Lawson - 340,000
