| Mike Garcell (Hialeah, FL) became everyone's favorite Event #1 player (for a moment), after eliminating Marcin Plewinski from the tournament, and sending the remaining field into the money. |
After an elimination on one of the outer tournament tables, the field would be instructed to pause after all other hands were completed, as the hand-for-hand process was about to begin. The final hand to play out was at Table 5, between Mike Garcell and Marcin Plewinski. After check-calling a bet from Garcell, on a J♦ 9♥ 6♥ board, the two players would see the K♥ on the turn. Plewinski would then call of his remaining stack, holding J♥ 8♥ against Garcell's Q♥ 10♥. Mike had turned the straight, and while Plewinski may have banked on his flush draw as a back-up plan, Garcell ended up having that covered as well. Marcin was drawing dead heading to the river, and ended up being the Event #1 bubble boy.
Everyone remaining is now guaranteed at least $350, but all eyes are on the $28,806 first place prize. Official results will be posted as each pay jump is reached.
