Monday, September 25th: Final Week Of September Poker Action Begins Today

ICYMI: David Poces (Boca Raton, FL) notched a sixth tournament win for his resume yesterday afternoon, after heading a three-way chop of the $150 No Limit Hold'em event.  The tournament saw registration close with a total of (26) entries, and an official prize pool of $2,990.  Three spots were scheduled to get paid, but the final four players agreed to a deal that paid a fourth spot.

  1. David Poces (Boca Raton, FL) $1,200
  2. Roman Gonzalez (Miami, FL) $750
  3. Andrew Daire (Boca Raton, FL) $711
  4. Robert Schafer (Sunrise, FL) $329
The $130 No Limit Hold'em "Hard Stop, ICM Chop" ($2,500 GTD) followed at 6:00pm, and continues to grow in popularity with the players.  A total of (22) entries made up the tournament's field, with the prize pool officially closing on the $2,500 number.  The "extra pay-spot" popped up again, as the three scheduled payouts were spread across a four-way chop.
  1. Patrick Biancone (Delray Beach, FL) $864
  2. Scott Bailey (Loxahatchee, FL) $643
  3. Brian Baris (Tamarac, FL) $523
  4. Daniel Stelle (North Palm Beach, FL) $470

Tournaments: This Monday starts the final week of tournament action for the month of September, with the 2017 Isle Poker Open right around the corner (October 4th-31st).  Action gets underway at 11:00am, with the cards in the air for the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" ($2,000 GTD).  The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 18,000 units, (15) minute levels, and an option add-on at the end of registration ($25 for 10,000 units, with full amount going to the prize pool).

The evening event, which begins at 6:00pm, is a $130 No Limit Hold'em tournament.  The structure sees players sitting down to starting stacks of 16,000 units, playing levels of (20) minutes over the course of the night.

Promotions: Outside of the "standard high hand" promotion, there will be "Turbo High Hands" from 9:00am-12:00pm.  During that window of time, $100 will be awarded to the qualifying high hand every (10) minutes (rollovers apply).

Sunday, September 24th: Full Tournament Slate And "Rich" Bonus Hands This NFL Sunday

ICMYI: Players were chopping once again Saturday morning, as the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" ($3,000 GTD) ended in a six-way deal.  A total of (46) entries made up the field, and once the payouts were posted from the $3,487 prize pool, players would see five spots getting paid.  Once play reached the money bubble, chop discussions began right there, with a deal made that paid an extra (sixth) spot.

  1. Kenneth Taffaro (Mooresville, NC) $560
  2. Arnold Cohen (West Palm Beach, FL) $448
  3. Shravan Kulshrestha (Miami, FL) $427
  4. Duane Minerva (Delray Beach, FL) $416
  5. Blaine McRae (Delray Beach, FL) $346
  6. Jessie Roberts (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $140
The 6:00pm tournament lived up to it's name for sure, as the $120 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" saw registration close with (103) entries, and a total prize pool of $8,755.  That is one of the higher numbers we've seen for that tournament, which boasted a first lace prize of $2,669.  The event also ended up in a chop, as the final five players broke down the ICM numbers, with Mike Diamond (Miami, FL) taking home the win.
  1. Mike Diamong (Miami, FL) $1,747
  2. Joseph Quaider (Tamarac, FL) $1,558
  3. Mark Bernstein (Hollywood, FL) $1,357
  4. Mandy Restrepo (Boca Raton, FL) $953
  5. Nathan Schwartz (Boca Raton, FL) $872
  6. John Bilas (Wilton Manor, FL) $409
  7. Danny Blackburn (Deerfield Beach, FL) $348
  8. Jared Carter (Pompano Beach, FL) $302
  9. Bernard Beloff (Boynton Beach, FL) $267
  10. Nathaniel Moore (Boca Raton, FL) $241

Tournaments: Sunday's tournament slate has two tournaments on the schedule, with the first starting at 12:00pm.  The $150 No Limit Hold'em event that kicks the action off is structured with starting stacks of 20,000 units, and levels lasting (25) minutes throughout the tournament.  The play is deep throughout the event, which is one of the reasons this tournament is one of the more popular with the players on the weekend.

That event is followed by a tournament that is growing in popularity each and every time it is run.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em "Hard Stop, ICM Chop" event sees the cards in the air at 6:00pm, and assures players they will be finished no later than 12:30am.  Players sit down to starting stacks of 20,000 units, with (20) minute levels, but there is a little wrinkle towards the end of the night.  After Level 16, the clock will be paused, and (10) final hands will be played.  Once those hands have finished, those players still left will split the prize pool (according to ICM calculations).

Promotions: For a number of months, Sunday's high hand promotion has been of the "turbo" format, with $300 awarded every (15) minutes from 2:00pm-9:00pm (rollovers apply).  While that promotion is still in place this afternoon, there will be an extra six hours of "turbo" high hands, with $100 awarded every (10) minutes, from 8:00am-2:00pm.  However you break it down, it's $600 worth of high hands up for grabs over the span of (13) hours.  Both tournaments are high hand eligible, adding even more appeal to the events.

11:00am - $150 No Limit Hold'em

- Players will start with 20,000 in tournament chips
- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
- Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
- Levels are (25) minutes

6:00pm - $100 No Limit Hold'em "Hard Stop, ICM Chop"

- Players will start with 20,000 in tournament chips
- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
- Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
- Levels are (20) minutes
- At the end of Level 16, tables will be balanced and tournament will play (10) more hands, in hard-for-hand format.  Tables will be re-balanced after (5) hands.
- At the end of (10) hands, tournament play will end, and all remaining players will chop the prize pool using an ICM calculation.

Saturday, September 23rd: Jaffe Wins "Single-Day Series II," Back To "Regular Weekend Programming"

Jonathan Jaffe (Plantation, FL)
ICMYI: The second running of the "Single-Day Series" was the highlight of yesterday's tournament schedule, with the cards getting in the air shortly after 12:00pm.  After eight levels of play, registration would close with a total of (30) entries, and officially end up with a $69,000 prize pool.  Five players would reach the money in the tournament, with a min-cash taking home $4,140, and first place earning $31,740.  Jonathan Jaffe (Plantation, FL) was under the radar for a good portion of the day, but used late heat to storm through the final table once play reached the money, eventually besting Corey Burbick (Davie, FL) for the title.

  1. Jonathan Jaffe (Plantation, FL) $31,740
  2. Corey Burbick (Davie, FL) $17,250
  3. Ian O'Hara (Boca Raton, FL) $9,660
  4. Andrew Touchette (Coconut Creek, FL) $6,210
  5. Samuel Ganzfried (Miami Beach, FL) $4,140
The evening tournament's payout list was more like a "who's who" of recurring Isle Poker tournaments, with Diane Linke (Boynton Beach, FL) returning to the winner's circle once more.  The $75 No Limit Hold'em tournament attracted a field of (79) entries, and once the optional add-ons were included to the prize pool, it would balloon to $5,048 (a very solid number for that event).  Players that reached the final table of ten would make the money, and while the action ended in a six-way chop, most everyone at the final table was an "Isle Poker notable:"
  1. Diane Linke (Boynton Beach, FL) $934
  2. Marcia Costa-Savidge (Pompano Beach, FL) $853
  3. Michael Corbett (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $685
  4. George Khoriaty (Boca Raton, FL) $642
  5. Patricia Conrad (Delray Beach, FL) $602
  6. Larry Bass (Tamarac, FL) $585
  7. Daniel Miller (Pompano Beach, FL) $222
  8. Jerrold Solov (Pompano Beach, FL) $202
  9. Joseph Quaider (Taamrac, FL) $172
  10. Lisa Teabaggy (Boca Raton, FL) $151

Tournaments: Saturday's tournament action begins at 11:00am, with the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" ($3,000 GTD).  The structure stays the same as the installments that fall on other days of the week, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 18,000 units, and playing levels that last (15) minutes throughout the event.  There is also an optional add-on at the end of Level 10 (when registration closes), with players able to grab another 10,000 units towards their stacks for $25 (100% of the add-on money goes towards the prize pool).

Tournament players that are searching for good value and solid structure, need to look no further than tonight's event.  The $120 No Limit Hold'em event begins at 6:00pm, and boasts a very player-friendly structure.  The starting stack is 25,000 units, with levels that start at (20) minutes, and transition to (25) minutes (once registration closes).  This offers deep play in the later stages of the event, something many tournament regulars are looking for.

Promotions: The high hand promotions take another "breather" today, between yesterday's (11) hours worth of "turbo" high hands, tomorrow's (7) hours of $300 high hands (awarded every 15 minutes).  The "standard high hand" procedure is in place, awarded prizes to qualifying high hands every (30) minutes (with rollovers).

11:00am - $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo" w/ $25 Bounties ($3,000 GTD)

- Players will begin with a 18,000 starting stack
- Late and re-entries for the first (10) levels
- Option player "add-on" at the end of Level 10 ($25 for 10,000 tournament chips), with 100% of the "add-on" going to the prize pool
- Levels are (15) minutes in length

6:00pm - $120 No Limit Hold'em

- Players will begin with a 25,000 starting stack
- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
- Alternates and late entries will enter with full stacks
- Levels 1-8 are (20) minutes in length, transitioning to (25) minutes Levels 9+

"Single-Day Series II:" Jonathan Jaffe Uses Late Heat To Take Down the "Single-Day Series II" ($31,740)

$2,500 No Limit Hold'em

Level 18 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/30,000 Ante)

Jonathan Jaffe (Longmeadow, MA)

Jonathan Jaffe bested a field of (30) entries in route to winning the second installment of the "Single-Day Series," a $2,500 buy-in event that boasted a $69,000 prize pool.  In a comfortable position for most of the day, Jaffe used a fortunate runout holding A J♠ against Sam Ganzfield's K K♠ to propel himself to the title.  After winning that hand, and doubling to over 1,000,000 in chips, Jonathan proceeded to knockout the final three players (Touchette, O'Hara, and Burbick).  This is Jaffe's first tournament win since his $7,500 High Roller title at Maryland Live! in 2016 ($50,400).  The $31,740 that Jaffe earned for first place brings his career earnings total above $2,564,000, and helps him crack the top (300) on the all-time money list.

"Single-Day Series II:" Burbick Defies Odds To Finish Runner-Up ($17,250)

$2,500 No Limit Hold'em
"Single-Day Series II"
Level 18 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/30,000 Ante)
Total Entries: 30
Players Remaining: 1

Corey Burbick (Davie, FL)

Like Andrew Touchette before him, Corey Burbick (Davie, FL) managed to reach a point in the tournament that seemed beyond unlikely, earlier in the day.  With ten players remaining, Corey was sitting with just (15) big blinds, sitting with 55,000 at 2,000/4,000 blinds.  Corey managed to make it to the "official" final table of nine, but was still an underdog to even cash.

Burbick then proceeded to catch fire over the Level 11-12 time period, and after the money bubble burst, found himself within 150,000 of the chip leader at the time.  He would then have to watch as Jonathan Jaffe caught fire, and while Burbick would reach heads-up play, he'd have a mountain to climb to catch Jaffe.  Heads-up play would last only a few hands, with Burbick bowing out in second place ($17,250).

"Single-Day Series II:" The Back-To-Back Run Falls Short For O'Hara, Who Departs In Third Place ($8,660)

Level 18 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/30,000 Ante)
Total Entries: 30
Players Remaining: 2

Ian O'Hara (Boca Raton, FL)

Ian O'Hara (Boca Raton, FL) put himself in great position to go back-to-back in the first two "Single-Day Series" events, but would fall just two spots short.  The hand after Andrew Touchette was eliminated, O'Hara would limp shove A♠ 3♠ (blind v. blind) against Jonathan Jaffe, and would bust to Jaffe's 10♠ 10.  This is Ian's first cash since winning the inaugural $2,500 buy-in event last month for $51,750.  Ian's elimination would leave Jaffe and Corey Burbick heads-up for the title, with updated chips counts to be posted momentarily.

Andrew Touchette (Wakefield, MA)

Andrew Touchette (Wakefield, MA) was one of the shortest stacked players coming into the tournament's final table, but managed to grind his way up to 600,000 (which was his peak for the day).  With the blinds 10,000/25,000, Touchette opened to 60,000, with Jonathan Jaffe next to act (on the button).  Jaffe would three-bet to 160,000, and after Burbick and O'Hara folded, Touchette shoved.  Although Touchette's 600,000 stack equaled more than half of Jaffe's stack, he would make the call, well ahead with Q♠ Q against Andrew's J J♣.

The runout would bring no help to Touchette, who would be eliminated in fourth place, adding $6,210 to his career earnings (which were just over $300,000 coming into the day).

"Single-Day Series II:" Long Time Since Losing One, But Sam Ganzfried Eliminated In 5th Place ($4,140)

Sam Ganzfried (Pittsburgh, PA)

After doubling up Jonathan Jaffe, Sam Ganzfried (Pittsburgh, PA) would return from break with less than ten big blinds.  Just ten minutes into the level, Sam would be eliminated, collecting $4,140 for his min-cash.  This cash is Sam's first since the WSOP in June (Event #58 - $1,500 NLH), and brings his career earnings total above the $50,000 benchmark.

Jonathan Jaffe (Longmeadow, MA)

That amount of times a player had been at risk since the money bubble burst could be counted on one hand, but Jonathan Jaffe found himself in that very position just moments ago, as the final minutes were ticking off the clock in Level 16.  After Sam Ganzfield opened to 47,000 from the button, Jonathan Jaffe announced to the dealer that he was all-in (for close to 475,000).  Corey Burbick folded his big blind, with Ganzfield (who had Jaffe) looking at his cards once more, before dropping the chips on the felt for a call.

It would be the A J♠ of Jaffe running into Sam's K K♠, but the A♣ 4 6 flop immediately flipped the lead, making Jaffe a heavy favorite.  Ganzfield would turn (2) a heart draw, but the board would pair on the river (4), giving Jaffe the double to over 1,050,000.  Sam dropped down to 240,000 after shipping the chips Jaffe's was, with players now on another ten-minute break.

Jonathan Jaffe- 1,050,000
Sam Ganzfield - 240,000

"Single-Day Series II:" Still Slow Going, Updated Chip Counts At Level's Transition

$2,500 No Limit Hold'em
"Single-Day Series II"
Level 15 (Blinds 8,000/16,000/16,000 Ante)
Total Entries: 30
Players Remaining: 5

It's been just over an hour since five-handed play resumed, and while there have been no eliminations, we have seen a slight shift in the counts.  Ian O'Hara still leads the way, while Andrew Touchette has more than doubled his stack since break.  Corey Burbick, who spent most of the time post-bubble burst trending in the right direction, has slipped to the bottom of the counts (but still has over 27 big blinds).

  1. Ian O'Hara - 805,000 (50bb)
  2. Andrew Touchette - 460,000 (28bb)
  3. Sam Ganzfried - 710,000 (44bb)
  4. Jonathan Jaffee - 565,000 (35bb)
  5. Corey Burbick - 440,000 (27bb)

"Single-Day Series II:" Updated Chip Counts From Break

"Single-Day Series II"
Level 13 (Blinds 6,000/12,000/12,000 Ante)
Total Entries: 30

Listed below are the updated final table chip counts during break:

  1. Ian O'Hara - 825,000
  2. Andrew Touchette - 196,000
  3. Sam Ganzfried - 675,000
  4. Jonathan Jaffee - 675,000
  5. Corey Burbick - 625,000
Not only was Corey Burbick (Davie, FL) able to navigate his way to the money bubble with a sub-twenty big blind stack, he's managed to run things up over the current chip average (which sits at 600,000).  Two players showed great respect during break, praising his play in these later stages of the event.

"Single-Day Series II:" Sean Perry Bubbles, As O'Hara Assumes Chip Lead

Sean Perry (Encinitas, CA)

With Level 12 winding down, and action folding to Ian O'Hara on the button, he would have the two shortest stacks in the blinds.  Andrew Touchette sat with 180,000 in the small blind, while Sean Perry held 200,000 in the big.  Ian would choose to shove, having each player well covered, and would get called by Sean Perry (after Andrew folded).  Holding A 3, Sean would be in as good of shape as he could have hoped, flipping to stay alive against Ian's 2 2.

The runout would stay clean for O'Hara's pocket deuces, and Sean would be eliminated in sixth place, just one spot short of the money.  The over 400,000 chip pot would bring Ian just over 900,000, making him the first player to eclipse that mark.  The rest of that players at the final table are now guaranteed at least $4,140.  There will be a break at the end of this level, with players returning to Level 13, and new blinds of 6,000/12,000/12,000.  Updated chip counts will be tallied during break, and posted shortly thereafter.

As play enters Level 12, the blinds go up to 5,000/10,000/10,000 ante, leaving only Andrew Touchette and Corey Burbick short stacked, with the other four players sitting comfortably (with the shortest of the four still sitting with 40 bigs).  The stack sizes could be conducive to a stretched out money bubble, especially if either Touchette or Burbick find a double.  Once the money is reached, updates will be posted as each play is eliminated from the event.

When play resumed just over an hour ago, there were a handful of stacks either hovering around, or below the twenty big blind mark.  The official final table of nine was reached as Level 10 was beginning, and as the level transitioned again moments ago, Joseph Couden was eliminated by Ian O'Hara.  That would leave six players remaining, with five spots to reach the money.

Listed below are the official chips counts from the final table (on the money bubble):

  1. Ian O'Hara - 830,000
  2. Andrew Touchette - 135,000
  3. Sean Perry - 450,000

ICYMI: Statement Regarding Wednesday's $570 NLH "Single-Day Series Satellite"

The Isle Casino Poker Room encountered a situation this past Wednesday night, in which a $570 No Limit Hold'em satellite into today's "Single-Day Series" was canceled moments before the tournament was to begin.

The decision to remove the event from the day's schedule was not in the best interest of the players.  In order to show our appreciation for the South Florida poker community, which has meant so much to the success of the Isle Casino Poker Room, we have decided to rectify the situation during the upcoming Isle Poker Open (October 4th-31st).

The third installment of the $2,500 No Limit Hold'em "Single-Day Series" will be run during the series (Event 14), and will be boasting a guarantee for the first time ($100,000).  A $570 NLH satellite into Event 14 has been added to the "secondary event schedule," which will be rake free for all that enter, and will also offer five guaranteed seats.

We look forward to seeing everyone over the course of the next four weeks, as over $1,100,000 in guaranteed prize money will be awarded...and that's a guarantee!!

Sincerely,

The Isle Casino Poker Room Family

Ian O'Hara (Boca Raton, FL)

The "Single-Day Series" field is about to enter Level 6, with the blinds going up to 2,000/4,000, and a 3,000 unit ante (posted by the big blind).  The numbers for this second installment may be less than what we saw in August, but the quality of play (and player) is by no means lacking.  Ian O'Hara's (Boca Raton, FL) initial title defense was a quick one, as his first entry lasted just two levels.  He then re-entered a few moments later, and has since made his way towards the top of the leaderboard.  The other players to make up this afternoon's field included:

Sean Perry
Jonathan Jaffee
Marcus Obser
Tony Robert
Peter Fellows
Christopher Bolek
Joseph Couden
Andrew Touchette
Barry Hutter
Alexander Gambino
Richard Kirsch

"Single-Day Series II:" Cards In The Air After Short Delay

$2,500 No Limit Hold'em
"Single-Day Series II"
Level 1 (Blinds 500/1,000/1,000 Ante)
Total Entries: 9

As it does happen often in bigger buy-in (high-roller) events, there was a short delay before the cards got in the air for this second installment of the "Single-Day Series."  Another common occurrence of an event like this, is the late arriving crowd, which could speak for the intimate field that's currently seated to start the day.

With today's tournament falling on a Friday (and the poker room open 24 hours), two levels have been added to the structure.  Level 3 (500/1,500/1,500) and Level 4 (1,000/1,500/1,500) have been added, allowing for even deeper play in today's beginning stages.

Outside of those level additions, the structure for today's event is the same, with 100,000 units starting stacks, a single ante posted by the big blind, and (30) minute levels played over the course of the day.

Sporadic updates will be posted throughout the afternoon, along with detailed coverage as the event reaches the money.

Friday, September 22nd: $2,500 "Single-Day Series" Makes A Return, O'Hara Looks To Defend

ICYMI: Results (and recaps) from yesterday's tournaments will be posted shortly after the doors to the poker room open.  Followers of the blog can check back just after 9:00am for that update.

Tournaments: The monthly tournament calendar usually sees Friday's with just one tournament on the slate, unless there is a multi-day event going on...or the "Single-Day Series" is making it's return.  The $2,500 No Limit Hold'em (one-day event) found it's way to the schedule last month (August 22nd), and surprised most everyone with it's success.  The prize pool, which was comprised of (75) total entries, surpassed $172,000!!! Ian O'Hara (Boca Raton, FL) bested Josh Hillock during heads-up play, taking home the "inaugural" title, along with $51,750.  This months installment of the "Single-Day Series" offers an even better structure, with two levels added at the beginning of the day.  Players in the event will be sitting down (12:00pm) to starting stacks of 100,000 units, with levels of (30) minutes being played over the course of the afternoon/evening.

For those players wanting to pass on the $2,500 buy-in this afternoon, there is a more "reasonably" priced-point tournament at 6:00pm.  The $75 No Limit Hold'em tournament is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, along with (20) minute levels.

Promotions: From the moment the doors to the poker room open, the "bonus" high hands are in effect.  Things start with the "Turbo High Hands," with $100 awarded to the qualifying high hand every (10) minutes.  With less tables in the morning hours, we usually see rollovers on a consistent basis, some of which get as high as $600-$700.  The ten minute high hands run from 9:00am-12:00pm, and then transition to a different promotion.

Things are still "turbo-ish," with $250 high hands awarded every (20) minutes, from the hours of 12:00pm-4:00pm.  The promotion only gets richer after that, as one last transition sees $500 awarded every (20) minutes, from the hours of 4:00pm-12:00am.

- Players start with 100,000 in tournament chips

Thursday, September 21st: "Horse"-ing Around And Turbo High Hands Join The Spotlight

ICMYI: Wednesday's $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" had a little "European flare" to it, as Gervasio Valiente (Barcelona, Spain) headed a five-way deal that ended the tournament.  The event saw registration close with (39) entries, which was just the number needed to reach the tournament's guarantee (the official prize pool closed at $3,003).  The posted prize pool boasted solid numbers once again, including a first place prize that was over $1,200.  The pool would eventually be altered though, as players agreed to pay an extra spot, with the following five names cashing in the event:
  1. Gervasio Valiente (Barcelona, Spain) $691
  2. Carl Handwerker (Pompano Beach, FL) $691
  3. Max Marion (Delray Beacj, FL) $691
  4. George Spyropoulos (Miami, FL) $690
  5. Marc Freund (Plantation, FL) $240
Tournaments: Thursday's tournament action opens with a non-no limit hold'em event, with the $130 H.O.R.S.E. ($2,000 GTD) event beginning at 11:00am.  These weekly mixed events have been very popular with the players, due largely to the excellent structure.  Players in the tournament sit down to starting stacks of 14,000 units, with levels starting a (15) minutes (while registration is open), then transitioning to (20) minutes (Levels 9+).

No limit hold'em makes it's return in the evening, as the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" ($3,000 GTD) tournament gets underway at 6:00pm.  This event (which has been in the Monday (AM), Wednesday (PM), and Saturday (AM) time slots) finds itself in the Thursday evening time slot for the first time, and should attract a nice sized field.  The structure stays the same, as players sit down to starting stacks of 18,000 units, with (15) minute levels played throughout the event.  There is also an optional add-on at the end of registration, which allows for players to get 10,000 units towards their existing stack (for $25, with 100% of add-ons going towards the prize pool).

Promotions: The Full House Early Bird promotion is in it's regularly scheduled spot this morning, but it's no longer just for limit hold'em players.  Every table in the poker room (excluding time raked games) is eligible for the promotion, which pays out the first (50) full houses (payout depends on which stakes are being played).  Similar to what is run on Friday's, there will also be $300 awarded to qualifying high hands every (15) minutes (from 12:00pm-4:00pm).

11:00am - $130 H.O.R.S.E ($2,000 GTD)

- Players will begin with a 14,000 starting stack
- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
- Alternates and late entries will receive full stacks
- Levels 1-8 are (15) minutes in length, with Levels 9+ lasting (20) minutes

6:00pm - $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo" w/ $25 Bounties

- Players will begin with a 18,000 starting stack
- Late and re-entries for the first (10) levels
- Option player "add-on" at the end of Level 10 ($25 for 10,000 tournament chips), with 100% of the "add-on" going to the prize pool
- Levels are (15) minutes in length

Tournaments: Today's tournament slate starts at 11:00am, with the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD).  With undoubtedly one of the best afternoon tournament structures in the area, the "Monster Stack" offers up starting stacks of 25,000 units, and levels that last (20) minutes throughout the event.

The "Monster Stack" is followed at 6:00pm, by the second satellite into this Friday's $2,500 "Single-Day Series." While Monday's satellite had a $275 buy-in (and guaranteed one seat), this evening's event is a $570 buy-in, and guarantees three seats.  In regards to satellites, players are very impressed with this structure, which is about as deep as you'll see for a satellite.  Players sit down to the table with 14,000 unit starting stacks, with levels of (20) minutes over the course of the evening.

Promotions: The high hand promotions are in full swing from the moment the doors open this morning, with the "Turbo High Hands" ($100 awarded every 10 minutes from 9:00am-12:00pm, with rollovers) distributing money at a rapid pace.  The transition at 12:00pm begins the "Spin To Win" promotion, which has awarded hundreds of thousands since it's inception.  It's the high hand promotion that makes all others jealous, and affords those that have a qualifying high hand (awarded every 30 minutes), an opportunity to spin the ever-popular "Money Wheel."  The total amount awarded...along with hourly breakdown, will be published tomorrow afternoon, here on the blog.

Tuesday, September 19th: Fellows Books First "Single-Day Series" Seat, While Pickard Bests $25k Field

ICYMI: The $2,500 "Single-Day Series" clearer got players attention last month, as the tournament attracted (75) entries, along with a prize pool over $175,000.  After players requested more satellites for the event, the powers-that-be listened, putting two on the schedule in the week leading up.  Yesterday afternoon was the first satellite, with the $275 buy-in event guaranteeing one seat, which was scooped up by tournament regular Petter Fellows.  There were (17) entries into the satellite, which meant that second place would take home $1,750 cash.  Jeffrey Silverstein was the runner-up finisher, so it will be interesting to see if he takes the discounted route towards Friday's event.

Monday's evening event was the $130 No Limit Hold'em ($25,000 GTD), which always brings out large fields.  Last night's installment saw registration close with (234) entries, which equated to a $25,000 prize pool.  A total of (30) players would reach the money, with a min-cash worth $173, but all eyes on the first place prize (which was $5,838).  It looked as if action may play down to an outright winner, but once four-handed play was reached, a deal was made.  The four players involved in the chop were all Isle Poker notables, earning over $3,161 each for their efforts.  Listed below are the results from the tournament's final table.

  1. Sharon Pickard (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $4,041
  2. Fred Alisi (Delray Beach, FL) $3,476
  3. Frederico Dabus (Doral, FL) $3,387
  4. Joseph Duchman (Miami, FL) $3,161
  5. Jose Tacher (Sunny Isles Beach, FL) $1,024
  6. Rafael Costa (Miami, FL) $998
  7. Luis Guarda (Coral Springs, FL) $850
  8. Jeffrey Dodson (Boca Raton, FL) $725
  9. Fancisco Castil (Pembroke Pines, FL) $585
  10. Peter Bejusca (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $500

Tournaments: "Tournament Tuesday" begins at 11:00am, as the cards get in the air for the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD).  Deep play is always available with a structure that starts players with 25,000 unit starting stacks, and levels of (20) minutes.  This particular afternoon tournament end a little later than others during the week, but none of the players are complaining, as they are able to "play" in the later stages of the event.

The "Monster Stack" is followed by the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($8,000 GTD), which always attracts monster-sized fields.  The tournament sees players sitting down to starting stacks of 14,000 units, along with (20) minute levels over the course of the night.  There is an optional add-on at the end of registration (after Level 8), which allows players to pay $20 for an additional 10,000 units towards their stack.

Promotions: It's all about getting to the poker room early on Tuesdays (and Thursdays), as the "Early Bird Full House" promotion offers an awarded cash prize (depending on game plated) for the first (50) full houses of the day (in live cash games).  That promotion is followed by $300 high hands every (15) minutes, from the hours of 12:00pm-4:00pm.

11:00am - $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD)

- Players start with 25,000 in tournament chips
