FSPC Event 14 (Day 2): Depersio Rivers An Ace To Stay Alive, Level Up

2017 Florida State Poker Championships
Event 14 - $1,100 No Limit Hold'em ($150,000 GTD)
Level 23 (Blinds 8,000/16,000/2,000)
Total Entries: 279
Players Remaining: 11/279

On the last hand of Level 22, John Depersio shoved from early position for 125,000, and was called by Maurice Hawkins.  After the blinds folded behind, Maurice quickly tabled J♠ J, with Depersio standing and rolling over A♣ 5♠.  The Q 3 5 flop added some more outs for Depersio, but the 10 on the turn would leave John looked for a non-diamond ace of five.  The A♠ fell on the river, allowing John to sit back down in his seat, and collect the pot worth over 250,000.

Players are now in Level 23, with blinds going up to 8,000/16,000/2,000 (520,000 chip average).  There will be one final break at the end of this level, and players will then return to play Level 24, with bagging to commence at it's conclusion (Day 3 tomorrow at 1:00pm).
