Sunday, July 23rd: Event #14 Players Return For Day 2, Another Champion To Be Crowned

ICYMI: Yesterday afternoon was the final starting flight for Event #14 of the 2017 Florida State Poker Championship, a tournament that had already reached the guarantee the night prior.  Flight 1C was the largest of the three flights, with a total of (118) entries making up the field.  There were many familiar faces in the field for the first time, including Loni Harwood, Philip Hui, Corey Burbick, Jacob Snider, Nissim Gozlan, Stewart Newman, Vincent Aloi, and Doron Malinasky.  There was also a group of satellite winners in action, hoping to parlay a $130 buy-in into a Day 2 bag (Tom Gity, Kent Taepakdee, Timothy Morgan).

A total of (26) players were able to bag chips for today's Day 2, with Jose Reyes (Boynton Beach, FL) bagging the flight's lead with 191,000.  Reyes ended up making a big call on the final hand to eliminate a player from the field, and help eclipse Nissim Gozlan for the chip lead.  The 191,000 stack sees Reyes returning to play fourth in chips for Day 2, behind John Depersio, Alexandre Fradin, and David Diaz.

Today's Day 2 sees (58) players returning to action, but the option to enter before the cards are in the air, will likely add to the overall number to start the day.  Because any additional entries will change the prize pool, the event payouts will not be listed until the action begins.  There is already over $273,000 in the prize pool, with the first place prize expected to be in the $45,000 range.  Live coverage of Day 2 will begin at 12:00pm, and will continue through the tournament's conclusion.

Tournaments: Outside of Day 2 for Event #14 getting underway at 12:00pm, there is another tournament on the FSPC schedule.  Event #15 is scheduled to begin at 3:00pm, and is a $350 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament.  This is a one-day event, with a structure thats see players sitting down to starting stack of 15,000, and playing levels of (30) minutes.

Promotions: The weekend continues today with "turbo high hands" from 8:00am-9:00pm.  The promotion is broken down into two periods, with $100 awarded every (10) minutes from the hours of 8:00am-2:00pm, followed by $300 awarded every (15) minutes from 2:00pm-9:00pm.
