FSPC Event 14 (Day 2): Reyes Gets a Double Through Burbick

2017 Florida State Poker Championships
Event 14 - $1,100 No Limit Hold'em ($150,000 GTD)
Level 18 (Blinds 2,500/5,000/500)
Total Entries: 279
Players Remaining: 26/279

Jose Reyes (Boynton Beach, FL)
Just two hands back from break, we'd approach Table 1 during a hand between Jose Reyes and Corey Burbick.  With a board of J 3♠ 2♠ 6♣, Reyes would check the action to Burbick, who bet put out a stack of 60,000.  Reyes didn't seem to love his decision, but did push forth his stack, which was just over 75,000.

Burbick threw in a chip for a call, and the hands would be tabled.  Corey rolled over A♠ 9♠, an underdog against Jose's 10♠ 10♣, but he still had a card to come.  The river 9♣ solidified the double-up for Reyes, who would end up with 180,000 after the chips were pushed his way.

Corey Burbick dropped down to 165,000 after absorbing the loss, but still has a manageable (30) big blinds stack.

Jose Reyes - 180,000
Corey Burbick - 165,000
