Isle Open Event 14 ($2,500 Single-Day): Just Moments After Wong's Departure, McNamara Out In 4th Place ($10,856)

2017 Isle Open | Event #14
$2,500 NLH Single-Day Series | $100,000 GTD
Level 18 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/30,000 Ante)
Total Entries: 59
Players Remaining: 3

Ted McNamara (Davie, FL) may have fell short of his ultimate goal, but his fourth place finish was the largest cash of his poker career ($10,856).

After Jerry Wong's departure, Ted McNamara (Davie, FL) would be the shortest stack remaining at the final table.  He would shove just under fifteen big blinds from the button, and would be called by Alex Turyansky, with the two flipping.  McNamara's 7♠ 7♣ would hold strong against the K J♠ of Turyansky, but only through the turn (5♠ 10 10 A♣).  The K♠ would appear on the river, with McNamara flinching in disgust.  The $10,856 that Ted would earn for fourth place is the largest cash of his career, which is something McNamara can take solace in, after getting over the river beat.
