Francklin Michel's (Miami, FL) magical carpet ride ended short of his ultimate goal, but he doubled his lifetime earnings with this result alone. |
Just like Ido Ashkenazi before him, Francklin Michel (Miami, FL) did a noble job at the final table, surviving with a sub-twenty big blind stack for hours. Michel came back from the last break with less than five bigs, and after getting involved in a pot without committing his full stack, he'd be left with just two ante. Michel got those remaining chips in, and had to watch a K♥ 9♦ 5♦ 9♣ 7♦ runout, with Sheldon Gross and Justin Harvell checking it down. Harvey ended up making a flush on the river, but even his king-high was good against Michel's J♠ 8♣.
Franklin's career earnings coming into this tournament were just over $2,611, so to say that this tournament was a highlight for his resume, would be an understatement. The final table is now six-handed, with Noel Atherley and Justin Harvell leading the way.
