Isle Open Event 15 (Day 2): Salmon Busts Martin Culotta On The Bubble, Players On Break

2017 Isle Open | Event #15
$1,100 No Limit Hold'em | $150,000 GTD
Level 16 (Blinds 1,500/3,000/400)
Total Event 15 Entries: 180
Players Remaining: 23

James Salmon (Davie, FL) gives the quick thumbs up before heading to break, just moments after eliminating Martin Culotta, and sending Event #15 into the money.

The action at Table 3 would begin with Martin Cullota opening, and players folding to James Salmon in late position.  Salmon would three-bet to 15,000, and with action back on Martin, he would four-bet to 44,000.  The rest of the players at the table could sense something big happening, as everyone's focus was intently on Salmon's next move.  James chose to five-bet shove for 200,000 (covering Culotta), with Martin snap-calling, quickly turning over K♠ K.  Salmon tabled A K♣, and would be behind...but only for a few moments.  James would flop and ace, and after the board paired with another ace on the turn, Culotta would be drawing dead.

Salmon assumes the chip lead with the massive pot, now sitting with close to 380,000.  Players were then notified that they would be heading on break, returning after fifteen minutes to Level 16 (1,500/3,000/400).  Once the tables are occupied again, we will bring you updated chip counts from the field.
