Isle Open Event 15 (Day 2): Marchese Doubles Through James Salmon

2017 Isle Open | Event #15
$1,100 No Limit Hold'em | $150,000 GTD
Level 20 (Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000)
Total Event 15 Entries: 180
Players Remaining: 14

Joseph Marchese (Coral Springs, FL) had been grinding a below average stack for most of the day, but now sits with a very manageable stack.

Joseph Marchese opened the action at Table 1 from under-the-gun, with players folding around to James Salmon, who was in the big blind.  Salmon decided to three-bet shove, as Marchese only started the hand with 150,000 (less than twenty bigs).  Marchese would make the call, and we'd have our first player at risk in almost three hours (real time).

It would be the JJ of Marchese against Salmon's 9♠ 9, with the board running out K♠ Q♠ 2 2♠ 5, securing the double for Marchese.  Joseph chipped up to 300,000, eclipsing the chip average for the first time in recent memory.

Joseph Marchese - 310,000
James Salmon - 200,000
