Isle Open Event 15 (Day 2): Marchese Loses A Big Flip, Out In 8th Place ($5,185)

2017 Isle Open | Event #15
$1,100 No Limit Hold'em | $150,000 GTD
Level 24 (Blinds 10,000/20,000/3,000)
Total Event 15 Entries: 180
Players Remaining: 7

Joseph Marchese (Coral Springs, FL) had done well to chip up towards the end of Level 23, but found himself flipping for his tournament life, just a few hands into Level 24.

Action at the final table would fold around to Noel Atherley on the button, who raised to 50,000.  Joseph Marchese was next to act in the small blind, and he'd three-bet shove for just over 400,000.  Brian Hastings would release his hand (in the big blind), and Atherley quickly made the call, with the two players flipping for a sizable pot.

Marchese held a slim lead with 5 5 against Atherley's A♣ K, but that quickly changed after the K♣ 3♣ 4♣ flop.  The A on the turn brought Marchese extra outs to a wheel, but he'd whiff the river, exiting the final table in eight place ($5,185).
