CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): Alexander Perez Eliminates Marek Madro, After Bryan Makes Surprising Fold

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 18 (Blinds 4,000/8,000/8,ooo)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 36

Alexander Perez just won a sizable pot, but felt as if he got unlucky in the hand, with Andre Bryan folding pocket kings pre-flop (and Perez spiking an ace that would have knocked out two players).

At Table 1, Alexander Perez would limp under the gun, with Andre Bryan raising to 40,000, after one fold.  Players behind released their hands, with action stopping on Marek Madro, who was in the small blind.  Marek looked around the table to survey the stacks, as Perez had over 400,000 behind, and Bryan just under that amount.

"You're one of those guys, staring people down," Bryan said aloud, hoping to maybe induce some action.  Marek would reply with an all-in shove for 210,000, with the big blind folding his hand.  With action then back on Perez, he would announce himself all-in as well, having both players covered.  "Really...really man," Bryan questioned Perez, as he looked back at his hand.  "I guess I'm going to fold this hand," Andre said, as he tossed K K♣ into the muck.  The hands were then tabled, with Madro flipping for his tournament life:

Madro: J♠ J
Perez: A♣ K♠

Runout: 8♠ 5 4♣ A 6♠

Madro was able to fade the flop, but couldn't escape the ace on the turn, as Alexander grabbed a seemingly unsurmountable lead.  The river would be Marek's final street, as he'd exit the tournament in 39th place ($990).

Alexander Perez - 630,000 (78bb)
