Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 1 (Blinds 100/100)
Total Flight 1B Entries: N/A
If yesterday's turnout was a sign of things to come, this Card Player Poker Tour series is going to be something very special, specifically this opening event. Event #1 had it's first flight yesterday, the cards flying for Flight 1A at 2:00pm. Registration would close with (129) entries, and $38,700 towards the overall prize pool, which is guaranteed to reach $200,000. If the numbers continue to grow over the weekend, which is a proven trend during these events, we could see a prize pool that surpassed a quarter-million dollars.
Flight 1A saw (17) players reach the "Day 1 money," and (7) players bag chips for Monday's Day 2. Michael Garavuso doubled through Peter Udovik during Level 14, which helped him eclipse the 300,000 chip mark. From that point, Michael never looked back, as he would lead the seven players that bagged from Flight 1A (earning himself a seat into Event #8).
A new group of players will be taking their seats in just a few minutes, as Flight 1B gets underway at 11:00am. The structure for the day mirrors that of yesterday's flight, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 20,000 units, and playing levels that last (30) minutes. Once registration is closed (after Level 8), players will learn how many will reach the money (12.5%), and how many will bag for Monday (5%).
Live coverage of this afternoon flight (Flight 1B) will bring you updates throughout the day, concluding once the chips are in the bag.
