The triple-double is a great thing in basketball, but it's also a solid tournament stat-line, as Tony Mucci just learned over at Table 1. |
At the halfway point of Level 10, Tony Mucci (Boca Raton, FL) was all-in for 7,000 pre-flop, and ended up getting called in two spots. After the K♠ 7♠ 7♣ flop, one of his active opponents bet out, eliciting a fold from the third player in the hand. Tony quickly turned over A♠ K♥, and would eventually win the hand, besting his opponent's K♣ 10♣.
Less than fifteen minutes after Mucci's triple-up, he'd be all-in pre-flop once again (for 23,400), and this time called by Raminder Singh. The action would fold behind, and the cards would find their backs:
Mucci: 10♥ 10♣
Singh: A♦ J♣
Runout: K♣ Q♠ 9♠ J♦ 8♥
When the jack hit the turn, Mucci looked dejected, but quickly noticed that the card made him a straight. When no ten showed up on the river, Tony secured the double...after the triple...giving him the ever-elusive triple-double.
Tony Mucci - 50,000 (31bb)
