FSPC Event #9 (Day 2): Phil Hui Another Day 2 Buy-In Seeing Success, Now Over 100,000

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #9 | $1,100 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 15 (Blinds 2,000/4,000/4,000)
Total Event #9 Entries: 341
Event #9 Players Remaining: 61

Phil Hui (San Antonio, TX) got little heated after some consistent needling from an opponent, but was able to clear his head, and score a critical double up.

Phil Hui was one of the group of players to buy in this afternoon, and while his day has been slightly irritating, he did receive a boost to his stack moments ago.  In one of the first hands of Level 15, Hui was on the river of a board that read Q 5 7 6 8, with Hui betting out on the river.  His opponent raised enough to put Phil all-in, and after about ninety-seconds in the tank, he'd fold his hand.  One of the players who was at the table, who wasn't even in the hand, started making comments about the length of time Phil took on the river.

Hui made it clear that he is very conscious about the time he takes making decisions, and that there was nothing egregious about his time taken on the river.  The player continued and continued to make comments, until finally the situation was diffused. About one orbit later, Hui would be all-in pre-flop, and racing for his tournament life:

Hui: 9 9♣
A. Nonymous: A J

Runout: Q 7♣ 4 K 4

While the runout did bring a little sweat for Phil, he was able to hold, and doubled up to just over 100,000.  The player that had been causing Hui some stress was eliminated just a few hands after his double, so Phil's day will continue with a little peace.

Phil Hui - 105,000 (26bb)

Players are taking their first break of the day at the end of this level, and will be returning to Level 16, with new blinds of 2,500/5,000/5,000.  Updated chip counts will be posted once play resumes.
